Description

The Lander 5 is built to be a first knife: simple, sturdy, and safe for beginners. Designed by Ben Petersen, it’s made for those just starting their knife journey: the scout learning to whittle, the weekend camper, or your Uncle Bob who just can’t help but overuse his tools.

This is not a fidget toy or a heavy-duty workhorse. It’s a dependable, affordable knife designed to teach respect for sharp edges and basic knife care. With a cold-forged steel handle, frame lock, and easy thumb hole deployment, the Lander 5 gives beginners the real feel of a quality pocket knife without breaking the bank.

A knife built for learning, exploring, and probably getting lost in the woods and that’s exactly what it's designed for.

  • 8CR14MoV blade steel – Sharp, easy to maintain, and ready for everyday abuse.
  • Frame lock construction – Rock-solid reliability that keeps your fingers safe when things get gritty.
  • Thumb hole opener – Quick, intuitive deployment, even with gloves or wet hands.
  • Cold-forged steel handle – Built tough for a lifetime of pocket duty.
  • Stonewash finish – Hides wear, looks better with age, and tells your story.
  • Compact 2.13″ blade – Pocket size, perfect for daily carry.
  • Deep-carry clip – Sits low, stays secure, and doesn’t scream “knife guy.”

Cool little blade :)

I bought this blade as much for it's looks and finish, stonewash is one of my favourites looks :)

Nice little fidget toy as well, very manual opening but a good feel for a cheap knife.

Small and solid

My first knafs knife was impressed by the solidness of such a small folder but I do have a issue with the liner look it would be lucky to have 15% of lockup i’am hopeing it will improve with use if not out comes the dremal.

Hey Stewart, 15% lockup should be just fine if the lockup is secure, and it give the lock surface plenty of life as it will wear and engage more and more over time. No need to take a dremel to it :)

Beautiful looking knife but a bit hard to open

I really was taken with this knife but dissapointed with how hard it was to open. It would hurt my finger trying to open. But I have fixed the issue by adding a stud to help open. You can see this on the photo. I like this knife but its not my favourite that i purchased. But for the price can not really complain much.

Great EDC Altoids kit fit

This is an excellent EDC knife that fits in my ALTOIDS tin kit. Not too small as to be anorexic, and plenty big enough for everyday tasks. Great performer for its size and great value for money.

Awesome Knafs Lander

Awesome knife from Knafs who are a fun company. Functional and cool knife, not a high end specimen but a great EDC. Recommended!

Lander 5 Black Wash

I bought a couple of these for younger folks and a sneaky one for myself. I prefer the black wash version to the stainless. It just has a nicer appearance. This is a slow roll knife, not a fast deployment edc. The steel is pretty basic and the blade runs on teflon washers. Its a nice little user only. I would not call this a collector knife. Use it - abuse it and worry less about wearing it out.

Little Knife For Little Jobs

The materials and fit and finish of this knife are reflected in the price. Are they collectors items? Not to me. The Lander 5 is a simple working knife for little jobs. As long as you keep that in mind you will not be let down. They make good gifts for kids getting their first knife and as a 5th pocket carry for the more experienced user.
