The Snail Trail, designed by Caleb Waldman, is about as low-key as a knife gets. Closed, it looks more like a 3.8cm textured EDC coin or worry stone than a cutting tool. Flip it open and you’ll find a tiny 0.42" hawkbill blade that’s surprisingly effective for the jobs most of us actually do. Opening boxes, letters, and small precise cuts. The double detent slip joint keeps things simple and non-threatening, while the sliding thumbstud mechanism or jimped blade spine makes it just as satisfying to fidget with as it is to use. It’s not here to tackle big jobs, and it doesn’t pretend to. Instead, it disappears in the pocket, lives happily in an EDC pouch, and quietly handles the small stuff better than most.
